With the help of Culture Ireland I am returning to Niigata to renew and further develop “Awake, A Father’s Wake”, the piece we created last summer. It is the communities hope that the work will continue to be a focal point in the village, built over the site of a ‘Jomon’ era village (six thousand year old) and backing onto the mountainside this is a powerful area to work in. Once the renewal is complete we will hold a performance with the local Kagura group (Shinto Dog Loin character).
